The Goal: To rebuild our Worship Center

What is the ReBuild Initiative?

The purpose of the initiative is to rebuild Northway's Worship Center that was destroyed in 2019 by a tornado, and we have successfully raised the $6 million needed to kick off the project! Though a portion of the project will be covered by the money raised as well as remaining insurance dollars, there will be debt servicing required to fund the full project. We invite you join us as we practice sacrificial generosity as a church body!

What are next steps?

Northway Church leadership is now in conversation with several banks to discern our next steps. We hope to break ground in late 2023.

Can I still contribute?

Yes, you can! You can give a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift at northwaychurch.com/give. This is a three-year initiative so we are asking those participating to give through December 2025.

FAQs

We are rebuilding what was destroyed by a tornado in 2019. We also believe that rebuilding the Worship Center is an eternal investment that will impact generations to come, just as Northway Baptist Church members before us gifted us with our current space. It’ll be a resource for us as we seek to be a trained and sent people — creating space for members and visitors to attend our weekly gathering and freeing up the current Worship Center building to be used for the flourishing of our community.
Over the last three years, our body contributed their voices to the design of our future Worship Center in various ways, like a formal exercise, a committee, and conversations with staff and elders. All of the input has been considered and distilled into the renderings found on this webpage.
Initial early estimates have been in the $12 million to $15 million range. However it is important to note that these are estimated budget numbers, secured from a few contractors based on high-level renderings. We do not have a firm cost at this point, which would require full construction drawings. We are hopeful this process will start at the beginning of 2023 as monthly gifts begin.
No. Please continue to tithe to the General Giving fund. All gifts to the ReBuild Initiative should be over and above your monthly giving. Every gift, no matter the size, will be critically important as we seek to be a sacrificially-generous people through this process.

We will remain committed to the support of our ministry partners such as Buckner International, Casa del Lago, and YoungLives. Rebuilding our Worship Center would actually open up more space for us to be able to host and serve our ministry partners and the people they minister to.
When Northway Baptist Church was established in 1952, the members made an investment that has blessed this corner of northwest Dallas for the last 70 years. We invite you to be a part of furthering the good news of Jesus for the next 70 years, even if you’re only with us for a short time.
